Guy Lets His Artist Wife Doodle With Sharpie Pen On His Nissan Skyline GTR
While doing some car mods on his Nissan Skyline GTR, one auto enthusiast, together with his talented and supremely dedicated artist wife, accidentally stumbled upon an amazing way to give their sleek silver vehicle an impressive paint job.
The car enthusiast, who is a member of the U.S. Military, hated the bland silver car paint. One evening, he let his wife doodle on a few scratches on the bumper, and when the sun came up, and he saw her stunningly intricate cool doodles, they knew they had to forge on. While he worked on tuning the insides, she did her doodle art on the cool car.
After roughly 100 hours of work and several clear coats to protect the one of a kind car paint job, they had an impressively unique car that they had tuned up as a team!

I didn't choose the Doug life, the Doug life chose me.
Shouldn't this instead be titled "Artist Doodles with Sharpie Pen on Husband's Nissan Skyline GTR?" Seems it's more about the artist to me.
I fully agree! Or better yet, "Wife Creates Beautiful Art on Husband's Car." Guy LETS his wife? Um...?
Load More Replies...No, it's his car. As a man I would ask my wife for permission to draw on her car too. It's called common respect, not sexism.
I don't think it's sexist .. he probably did let her. But she is definitely the star here
Do you think it's sexist that it says he let her? It's HIS car. If my lady painted my car without my permission, I would be furious.
Lets say the couple lived in a house that the wife bought, should the man ask permission before he doodles all over the house?
The title was meant to invoke curiosity at the result. Wife creates beautiful art spoils the surprise result. Get off your pedestals.
You're missing the point that the car belongs to him. Anything done on the car must be with his permission. It has nothing to do with sexism
I would say, "LETS". My wife is a skilled artist and I wouldn't let her do that to my car and I wouldn't touch her car without permission.
@PanFerdinand : You're serious there? Wow... I totaly agree with the title : he LETS his wife paint on HIS car. I know I wouldn't do that..
Topic makes sense as is. 1. its a skyline GTR. He must really love his wife to let her do ANYTHING to a skyline GTR. 2. It's his.
That is the same as saying "woman lets husband drive car through painting" It isn't sexist, it's a passion statement, he is a car guy.
@CheyanneThomas "There are men talking. If your going to be a jackass atleast use correct grammar." It's "you're".
House is theirs, but a car is a more personal thing. MY car is MY car, and the truck is his.
@PamFerdinand - in the know on their marriage (i.e., how they treat ownership and how it's structured)? Are you a broad brush artist?
Cut out the feminist c**p jesus christ. It's his car, he let her touch it, yes.
There are men talking. If your going to be a jackass atleast use correct grammar.
I like how all these comments are about the title. I think it's accurate, when a man loves his car and lets you draw on it.. you're loved..
technically he LET her doodle on some scratches.. and then it went from there. it's an expensive car.. you don't just draw on cars anyway.
Why is it only men flipping out about Feminism. The article is about the both of them, so the title should reflect that. Which it doesn't.
@PaulA'Barge read a definition of "feminism" published in the last decade. Don't like it? Go back to the 1950s.
At first I had the same issue, but then checked the sources, and as she is actually his girlfriend, he did "let" her
It's his car. My car is still my car, even if I'm married. It's about respect, baybee
I think the title is worded fine but you don't need to bash feminism. There are different degrees of feminism and some are good.
I couldn't agree more, too. This is the second time I see something done by two people phrased as if the man did it.
you overlook the article and the amazing artwork by focusing on the Headline and how "sexist" it was poor showing. This is beautiful art.
Why are you valuing the car when you should be valuing her amazing work? If he has 100k to spend it's not like it's a big deal for him.
Shouldn't this be instead titled "Artist covers GTR in amazing tribal-inspired sharpie tattoo,"? That 'body art' is clearly not doodling.
I agree, I'm a little disappointed on the wording as this is a very detailed and elaborate pattern labeled as a doodle.
Its not misogynist, you don't just draw (even if it is gorgeous) on an R33 GTR. This is a car that won, and continues to win and compete in racing competitions, a car that was unbelieveably ahead of its time. Its a real supercar. It is *HIS* car (read the source), and obviously he loves it, because of the time he is putting into tuning it, so he did *LET* her do it.
And then we realize it's just a damn car...This "Doodle", makes it look 10x better. The Mona Lisa isn't known for what it's painted on.
GavinCoish, I lived in Japan for 15 years. GTR 33s (this model) are 2000-4500 used.
No that skyline will be that guys pride and joy. a project hes probably worked on for years. Letting anyone doodle on it would be a big deal
The Skyline GTR is really a modern classic and you just wont let anyone doodle on it with a sharpie. I think it's the real story is captured
I think the autor meant to show his indignation [how could he let her?! :D] But if you ask me, it looks original and unique.
I'm a hard core feminist.. this isn't sexist... In order to do something to someone elses possesions that person must LET YOU.
Well I think the title was like that to showcase the relationship between them and how sweet it was
"Man nitpicks article title on the internet. The internet is unsurprised."
If the title was "Woman Lets Her Artist Husband Doodle With Sharpie Pen On Her Nissan Skyline GTR" I guarantee 80% wouldn't be arguing it.
most people dont let someone draw on their car in permanent marker. stop making an issue out of nothing there are actual problems out there
well it's a woman artist, so the man obviously has to have the "main attention" of the article.
Boredpanda has a strict policy of recognising that wives are merely chattels: they cannot - ever - act without their husband's consent.
"Artist Doodles with Sharpie Pen on Nissan Skyline GTR?" Remove "sex" as an option and you end up admiring whoever has a gift.
like why the f**k do we care about the husband? this has nothing to do with him. I totally agree. It's about the amazing artist.
Its correct -> The dull car owned by husband <-- subject. Wife turn it into a masterpiece <--matter
well you clicked on it so i think they captured the title perfectly.
That really is the reason they phrased it that way. It's like "OMG, he let her doodle on WHAT CAR!?" and then it's like "Oh... dammmmnnn..."
I created a account just to thumbs up your comment. What a ridiculous title! Couldn't agree more with you
Lol me too except I created an account just to thumbs down someone's comment!
Love the title for the responses it provoked, and the comments, as if there's some committee deciding how all relationships ought to work.
Car looks great. She should let him drive to anywhere he wants in it. ;)
I fully agree, this is more about the artist not the freaking piece of metal, idiots babbling about $100k car, painting costs only $3/$4k!
yes it should be....but this way it attracts more male viewers...a skyline for a man is something important...and saying "guy lets" works...
No no, then we would be giving women identities as real human beings, and not simply being defined by their male relations #sarcasm
I agree but I think they titled it like this because as talented as she is, there are a lot of talented people in this world. Not many people would let their wife doodle on their car in sharpie, though. I still like your title better though.
If any of your would actually check the original source you would know that boredpanda was wrong- she is his girlfriend, not wife!
If you were to ACTUALLY look at the original source that this story links to, the fact is- she is his GIRLFRIEND not wife.
What kind of patriotic U.S. Marine drives a car with Japanese plates on it. Credit the real artist, not some bogus husband/wife story.
Please have the common sense to read the ENTIRE article before making stupid erroneous statements. The article says it was a joint effort!!!
Disagree, should be "Man lets woman live after violating his Nissan Skyline" that ride is best left pure
Really glad to see this is the top comment. What a horribly misogynistic headline. Maybe he'll "let" her leave home unescorted next!
If the wife owns a 100k house shouldn't the husband have to ask permission before he doodles all over the house, or is he entitled to do it?
Simply because that title would not generate as many views. That is why
Someone commented orig comment overlooked article & focused on sexist headline I disagree. Orig comment was about ineffecttive phrasing
Really? "Guy Lets His Wife?" wtf?! how about "Awesome Artist Creates Amazing Gift"? HELLLOOOOO?? 2014 calling!
Well in the original story the guy said "I let my girlfriend draw over a scratch on the front bumper. it didn't matter. I was repainting it"
If you knew anything about cars, you'd know that it's a big deal to let anyone come near a SKYLINE GTR with a SHARPIE. So yes... he LET her.
I drive a honda prelude 91 vtec sports and im a girl and i dont care boy or girl NO ONE draws on my car with out asking me first
Think about it like this. HE owns the GTR. IF it wasn' his wife but a paid job it would say guy pays artist to paint his GTR. this happened.
if it was HER car and she let HIM doodle on it. Wouldnt that be exactly what was going on?
The Nissan Skyline is a piece of modern art itself. So it is really risky to allow anyone the ability to draw on it.
Shouldn't this instead be titled "Artist Doodles with Sharpie Pen on Husband's Nissan Skyline GTR?" Seems it's more about the artist to me.
